Jake Lamson, M.S. is Director of Synthetic Biology and co-founder of NV Therapeutics in Berkeley, California.

Jake has over 15 years of experience in synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, and biotechnology research, with expertise in engineering biological systems for the production of novel molecules and therapeutics. His work spans industrial biotechnology and therapeutic discovery, with an emphasis on microbial engineering, biosynthetic pathway optimization, and the development of novel biological products.

Prior to co-founding NV Therapeutics, Jake held scientific positions at Lygos, Lassogen, and Genomatica, where he contributed to research and development programs involving engineered biological systems, sustainable biomanufacturing, and novel therapeutic modalities. Earlier in his career, he conducted research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Jake completed his research training at Roskilde University in Denmark.

At NV Therapeutics, Jake draws on his extensive expertise in synthetic biology and biological systems engineering to advance the company’s non-viral gene writing platform and the development of next-generation genetic medicines.
