Eduardo Seclén, Ph.D. is Director of Gene Editing at NV Therapeutics in Berkeley, California.

Edu has over 18 years of experience in cell and gene therapy research and development, specializing in the genetic engineering of hematopoietic stem cells and T cells. His expertise spans targeted gene insertion, genome engineering, and the development of novel therapeutic strategies for inherited genetic disorders.

Prior to joining NV Therapeutics, Edu held scientific leadership positions at Cellectis, where he led research programs developing gene-editing approaches for Sickle Cell Disease and lysosomal storage disorders. His work included advancing TALEN-based gene-editing technologies for precise genetic modification of hematopoietic stem cells, including strategies enabling lineage-specific expression of therapeutic genes. Edu completed his scientific training at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and postdoctoral training at the University of Southern California, focusing on HIV biology and the development of gene-editing strategies for HIV cures.

At NV Therapeutics, Edu applies his extensive expertise in genome engineering to advance targeted non-viral gene writing technologies, enabling the development of next-generation genetic medicines.
