Giorgia Santilli, Ph.D.

SCIENTIFIC CO-FOUNDER

Giorgia Santilli, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in Gene Therapy at the University College London Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOSH) in the UK and a scientific co-founder and advisor of NV Therapeutics.

Giorgia completed her professional training at both Imperial College London and the University of L’Aquila, with research focused on cancer biology and hematopoietic stem cells. Since 2006, she has developed gene therapies for blood disorders at UCL. She leads a research group working on lentiviral gene therapy and gene editing for monogenic diseases. Her work has contributed to the successful clinical translation of gene therapies for patients with Chronic Granulomatous Disease and Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency. She is currently focused on optimizing gene therapies for improved safety, efficacy, and durability of therapeutic outcomes.
