Daniel Dever Ph.D. is Head of Preclinical Research at Tornado Bio, a stealth-mode advanced therapies company in San Francisco, California. He is a scientific co-founder, advisor, and non-executive board member of NV Therapeutics.

Danny has over 12 years of experience in cell and gene therapy development, with a career focus on turning scientific breakthroughs in genomic editing into novel genetic therapies.. As an Instructor at Stanford University, his research on hematopoietic stem cells contributed to the founding of Graphite Bio. As co-founder and Head of Discovery & Preclinical Research at Graphite, he led programs that enabled the first clinical trial that directly corrected the variant that causes Sickle Cell Disease. Danny completed his scientific training at the University of Rochester, with postdoctoral training at Stanford University’s Center for Definitive and Curative Medicine.
