Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Senior Research Associate / Scientist I to join our Gene Editing team. This role will focus on advancing our non-viral gene therapy platform for hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) to enable next-generation therapies for genetic and infectious diseases.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on experimentalist with strong experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. This individual will play a key role in executing experiments, generating high-quality data, and helping drive multiple projects forward with increasing independence.
What You’ll Do:
You will be responsible for planning and executing laboratory experiments that support development of our non-viral gene editing platform, generating high-quality and reproducible data, and helping move multiple research programs forward, including collaborative projects with other industry and academic labs. This includes analyzing and interpreting experimental results, clearly documenting findings, and communicating progress to the team. You will stay current with relevant scientific literature, contribute ideas for improving workflows and technologies, and help translate research goals into practical experimental plans. As your experience grows, you will take increasing ownership of defined projects and play a key role in shaping experimental strategy and direction.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience: BS with 5–6 years, MS with 3–4 years, or PhD with 0–1 years of relevant research experience in molecular biology, cell biology, bioengineering, or related fields
Strong hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture (primary cell experience required)
Proficiency with digital PCR (ddPCR)
Experience with flow cytometry, including sample preparation and data analysis
Solid foundation in molecular biology techniques and CRISPR gene editing workflows
Ability to independently execute experiments and generate reproducible, high-quality data
Excellent organization, documentation, and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a small, fast-moving team environment
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred:
Direct experience working with CD34+ HSCs, including characterization, CFU assays, differentiation protocols
Familiarity with RNA-seq, NGS workflows, or genomic data analysis
Hands-on experience with in vivo murine models
Prior experience in a biotechnology or gene therapy setting
Familiarity with high-throughput or automated laboratory workflows
What We Offer:
Competitive compensation, benefits and equity
Opportunity to work at the cutting edge of non-viral gene therapy with an international team of collaborators
Collaborative and mission-driven culture focused on transformative therapies
High-impact role in a small, fast-moving team
Significant opportunities for professional growth and increasing responsibility
