Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional, highly motivated and collaborative Scientist to join our Gene Editing team. This role will report to the Director of Gene Editing and focus on advancing our non-viral gene therapy platform for hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) to enable next-generation therapies for genetic and infectious diseases.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on experimentalist with strong experience in HSC culture and gene editing techniques who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. This individual will play a key role in executing experiments, generating high-quality data, and helping drive multiple projects forward with increasing independence.
What You’ll Do:
As part of a small team, you will be expected to wear multiple hats and take responsibility beyond experimental execution. You will be responsible for planning and performing laboratory experiments that support development of our non-viral gene editing platform. You will generate high-quality, reproducible data, and help move multiple research programs forward - including collaborative projects with industry and academic partners. You will analyze and interpret experimental results, clearly document findings, and communicate progress to the team. You will stay current with relevant scientific literature, contribute ideas for improving workflows and technologies, and help translate research goals into practical experimental plans. As your experience grows, you will take increasing ownership of defined projects and play a key role in shaping experimental strategy and direction within the company.
Required Qualifications:
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Education & Experience: PhD with 0–4 years of relevant research experience in gene editing, cell biology, molecular biology, or related fields.
Strong hands-on experience with CRISPR gene editing techniques and HSC culture, transfection (e.g., electroporation, nanoparticle), characterization, analysis (e.g., CFU).
Proficiency with ddPCR for genomic analysis of gene editing outcomes.
Proficiency with molecular biology techniques including PCR and DNA extraction.
Experience with flow cytometry, including sample preparation and data analysis.
Experience with research software tools (e.g., GraphPad Prism, SnapGene).
Ability to independently execute experiments and generate high-quality data.
Excellent organization, documentation, and attention to detail.
Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a small, fast-moving team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a biotechnology or gene therapy setting.
Experience using viral and non-viral approaches to gene editing and delivery.
Familiarity with RNA-seq and NGS workflows.
Hands-on experience with in vivo murine models.
Familiarity with high-throughput or automated laboratory workflows.
Experience using AI-assisted tools in scientific research.

Compensation:
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 / year + benefits + equity.
